Artful Crafting Challenge 9: Altering!

Hello everyone! I am presenting to you yet another Challenge from Artful Crafting (boy, its been 9 months already!) and this month's theme is my favorite: ALTERING! :D (hurray!)

I literally enjoyed every bit of creating this project. I have created a video tutorial for you guys too (tried to, some of the parts are really bad and too dark- excuse the sun-less days ;) )

Let me show and talk a little about my kit for this month:

The Kit:
I have openly admitted my love for Tim Holtz products many times and I am going to do it all over again. I love what he comes up with. I feel like those products are literally made customised for me. Same goes for Finnabair's products for Prima. I think the products from both of them compliment each other really well.
My kit included the following items:
Idea-Ology Paper Stash Paper Pad 8″X8″ 36/Pkg Collage
Watch the video to get a detailed look. Please Watch HD for best results.

The Process:
I am going to be sharing a detailed tutorial video plus post next week. I will just discuss everything briefly here. And you can watch which products (majorly from the kit) I used to start with in the short video above.
I started off with gluing everything together that I wanted to put gesso over. This made my first layer of the project.
After making sure everything is dry and at its place, I put white gesso over it and let it dry. (I didnt want to hide all the details so used only a thin layer)

In the mean time, I prepared the vials. I put small nails in one (also taken out from the computer parts) and put a label on the other.

I sprayed Prima's Color bloom Spray over the gesso'ed parts after the gesso was dry. Let the color dry and use a bit of Mica powder to enhance the parts you want.
Starting with the second layer- start gluing the items you did not want to gesso.

and Voila!

Add the finishing touches and details

I wanted to take a few pictures before I put plastic on the box and add the foundations to permanently close it. This is how it looks at the end :)

I think I have covered pretty much everything in the video, from the first layer to beautifying the foundations (in two colors) Do leave your feedback and maybe questions so that I can cover them in my next post. :)
'Til next week!
xx
J.
