Hi there everyone!
Here I am with my first ever project as a Design Team Member from Artful Crafting. Have you checked out the first challenge from AC's Blog? If not, you should check it out here and Do NOT forget to participate :-) So here is my take on Stenciling:
I think most of you who know my work know the fact that I am more of a warm-color person and I prefer using subtle colors than bright and bold ones. So I was very happy on my DT Kit that included the following items:
My Outcome? This! :)
I started off with with a card stock from Artful Crafting's Blank Cards pack and started blending in the inks together. I have got to admit that I am in love with her blank cards! I worked my way from one corner to the other diagonally using Forest Moss (Distress Mini Ink Pad) at the bottom and Dried Marigold (Distress Mini Ink Pad) at the top. I added Peeled Paint as well as Vintage Photo to blend them together well. Mini Blending tools are so much fun to work with!
The next step was Stenciling. I placed the stencil over my card base and using a mini dauber, dabbed Versamark through the stencil randomly but following the layout I had in mind. Using Ranger Embossing Powder in Black, I heat embossed the pattern which looked something like this:
The final and most favorite part of mine was to embellish! :) I fussy cut two journaling cards from Romance Novel Chapter 2 to form the base of my sentiment. Finally, used several Prima blooms, and other embellishments to complete my card. At the end, I sprayed some Distress Spray Stain over the card and dried it off with a tissue.
Here are a few more pictures :)
I hope you liked my project. Dont forget to leave your feedback! :) Also, I am looking forward to all the projects from you guys very much!
Until next time,
Love,
-J

I added a similar print on top using a background stamp with black distress ink. |
